Peace In Our Times – Peace Sign Clock – Blog Giveaway – Second of Three

by Louis of Atlas Signs

Here is the 2nd of 3 Peace Blog Giveaways from Atlas Signs and Plaques. Atlas has promised Peace In Our Times in the form of Blog Giveaways, each one featuring a different Peace Sign Clock. There is (at least) one more to follow. So, stay tuned for it, and all of our future giveaways by subscribing to our RSS Feed. You will receive notification of all of our Blog Giveaways and you won’t miss a thing.

Peace Sign Clock Blog Giveaway

Peace Sign Clock

The Second Peace Clock to be given away is our Keep the Peace Clock. Interestingly, the now well-known International Peace Symbol has its roots in the anti-nuclear protests in the 1950s and 1960s. It has taken on a new, much broader life as one of the most recognized icons of this century. We like to say that there is always time to make peace, so we added a quartz clock movement to the beloved Peace Sign. And now, you can win it to keep for yourself, or to give as a great Christmas Gift!

THE PRIZE: Atlas is giving away the Keep the Peace Clock in our Bronze Verdi Finish.

Remember, this is just the second of three Peace Clock Blog Giveaways. Just look at the photo to see our last, and next blog giveaway. The  Peace Symbols Clock blog giveaway is history, but the Flower Power Clock will be our next giveaway.

My Favorite clock is the Sweet Tweets Clock! I really like the branch design! I do not have any stories of protests, I was born in ’78, but I do remember having to sit under my desk in school to practice the earth quake drills or whatever drill it was, I can’t even remember. I just always thought it was really weird!
Thanks!

I love the Road King Clock! Never seen anything like it. Looks very Art Deco, and yet makes me think of an Indian motorcycle at a gas station on Route 66. :) If I don’t win the Keep the Peace clock, can I have the Road King Clock? Hey, never hurts to ask!! :) And yes, I remember the “cold war” scare years from school and what to do in case of nuclear attack (somehow hiding under your desk no longer seems safe to me…). I remember the bomb shelter frenzy of the 60′s too. Ah, the good ol’ days!! :)

I am loving the Swirl Sun clock!! My kitchen is the same color as the swirl and would be finishing touch. :) Love clocks, I have a huge clock in out living room that has been personalized and I would love to have something nicer than our microwave clock. ;)

Heidi October 10, 2010 at 3:33 pm

My favorite clock is the sweet tweet clock. I also really like that whooo hoot owl clock and birds on a wire. I guess I really can’t pick! Haha!

I really like the different metal tarnish looks the clocks have to them. They would help add some rustic charm to my recently redecorated living room!

I have to say the Swirl Sun lock caught my eye. I tend to fancy anything with moons or suns.
http://atlassignsandplaques.com/swirlsunclock.aspx

I will definitely date myself here by saying I had to crawl under my desk during air raid drill in elementary school which then later put me at the right age to demonstrate against the Viet Nam war as a late teen/young adult. My first peace symbol was a lapel pin given to me by a Swedish sailor in Port and off his ship for R&R. I was 16. Now I’m feeling very old.

Thanks for the chance to win.

To be honest, I like them all… but my two favorites are the sun swirl clock because it would definitely fit in with my Southwest style decor and look totally cool-the other is the Circle Circle clock, it is a really unique design and I like the color that it is shown in, it would be a conversation piece in my family room.

Nicole C. October 8, 2010 at 6:39 pm

Kendall October 8, 2010 at 4:32 pm

I LOVE the peace sign clock. Having grown up in the 60s, the peace sign is such an icon of those days. My high school class song was “Give Peace A Chance”. I love the colors of the metal and finish. Very nice!

I like Birds on a Wire the best of all of the clocks. I just like the ambiance it gives. It reminds me of driving through the country in the evening and seeing the birds on the wires above the old barns.

The Peace Clock brings back a lot of nostalgic memories for me.

Kelly October 7, 2010 at 2:11 pm

I really like the Birds on a Wire because I really like birds. I live near a marsh and we have some beautiful birds-egrets, ospreys, red tailed hawks… All the clocks are cool. I love the weathered look on some of them.

leslie October 7, 2010 at 12:29 pm

I love the giveaway clock! The Peace Symbols one is great too. My stepdaughters would love these :)
